Sponsoring Pippa Haigh
We are proud to be sponsoring 15 year old BSJA rider, Pippa Haigh. Pippa is from a small town called Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire and trains with the Whitakers who are based in Huddersfield.
She has been competing in BSJA for 2 years and has never looked back…
Pippa’s Ponies
She has a JA coloured pony called Diamond Diva II, but she is known as Brownie! She’s been to HOYS twice now and just missed out winning the foxhunter in 2006! Pippa and Brownie are hoping to jump the European trials in order to get picked for the Nations Cup teams – we wish them both the best of luck.
Pippa also has a JC coloured pony called Monica IV and believe it or not she is known as Monica! She has too many wins to mention, but last year they came 3rd at the Bramham International Horse Trials. Monica is a fab superstar who last year was unstoppable, qualifying for every championship, but unfortunately to a horrific accident she can no longer be ridden. That still doesn’t stop her getting a lot of attention and credit, with people asking after her. A definitely missed pony on the circuit by everyone!
Likes
“I love going away competing and sleeping over. I love sleeping in the wagon, it’s so cosy and just like home! But in general just the feeling of competing at a prestigious event, being with friends and spending time doing the thing I most love!”
Dislikes
“The winter! Christmas and the snow is great whilst it lasts, but last winter was ridiculous with temperatures of -16 degrees! Everything seems to stop in winter; the arena becomes frozen, the fields are covered in snow and competitions can get cancelled. I am the worst person in the world when it comes to the cold!”
Pippa’s plans for this year
- To do most Summer Pony Premiers – including the HOYS qualifiers
- Cavan HPI – in hope of getting picked for the 148 England teams
- Welsh HPI – in hope of getting picked for the 148 England teams and win the 148 Restricted & Under Championship
- Moorsele CSIP – First competition abroad in Belgium
- Neiuwpoort CSIP – Second competition abroad
- CushionBed BSJA Scope festival of Show jumping
- English HPI – in hope of getting picked for the 148 England teams and get placed in the Grand Prix and qualify for Olympia!
